Mengna Da 笪梦娜 is a producer, critic, translator, and curator based in Brooklyn. Her artistic and research interests involve: digital fuzziness, the absurd residing in everyday life, the politics behind what is (constructed to be) seen, and gender topics embodied in pop culture.
For the past few years, she has realized dozens of exhibitions, projects, and programs across the globe as Xu Bing‘s Studio Manager. Her art and cultural criticism have appeared in renowned media outlets in the U.S. and abroad, including Brooklyn Rail, Hyperallergic, ArtAsiaPacific, Artsy, ViCE China Creators, 博物馆评论 among others. She has interpreted and facilitated programs at MoMA, MIT, Yale University, The New School, NEW INC, and more.
In her free time, Mengna dances popping and hip-hop, watches anime, and co-runs the WeChat channel “abusive snacks” which scrutinizes popular culture and delivers slices of today’s abusive reality.
